Volleyball Update from Coach Mitchell
Monday, 22 September 2009
It's been a great couple of weeks for Leopard Volleyball. Since last talking to everyone JV Red and JV Black finished 1st and 2nd at the Denton Guyer Tournament. Freshman finished 2nd at Guyer. This past weekend started with JV Black beating Bishop Lynch on Friday night to remain undefeated in District. Saturday, the Freshmen competed at John Paul II and placed 3rd.
JV Black takes on Wylie East tonight at home beginning at 6:30. Varsity, JV Red, and Freshman compete at home vs. Lindale tomorrow with the JV and F starting at 5:00, followed by the Varsity. JV Black continues its' district season on Friday night, while F, JV Red, and Varsity travel to Nevada Community for the start of District play.
Freshmen-Congratulations on a great tournament season! The tournaments are over and it is time to focus on winning a District Championship beginning this Friday night. Did you know that Tuesday's win over Argyle was actually their F/Soph team??? It makes the win that much more exciting!
JV Black-The wins keep coming. Almost through the 1st round of district and Black remains undefeated in District. Their focus remains on bringing home a District Championship.
JV Red-Fresh off a tournament win, Red pulled out a tight one on Tuesday vs. Argyle and their undefeated record will be put to the test on Thursday and Saturday as they compete in the Allen Texas Open.
Varsity-Varsity enjoyed the weekend off as they are rested and ready to begin the next phase of the season as District starts on Friday and the Varsity looks to win its' 3rd District Championship in a row. They face Lindale on Tuesday at 6:00 and Nevada Community Friday at 5:00 p.m.
